Omakase Co., Ltd, a blockchain validator company, raises capital through third-party allotment
Nomura Holdings’ investment is primarily aimed at building a framework to meet the growing demand for our engineering services from blockchain projects at home and abroad, including securing human resources and building systems. By doing so, we hope to increase our presence and competitiveness in Japan and abroad, and contribute to the Web3 industry as a leading company in blockchain infrastructure, which is expected to continue to grow in the future.
Omakase Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Nishi-ku, Osaka; Eisuke Watanabe, President; hereinafter “Omakase”) was established in January 2024 as a subsidiary of the technology division of Kudasai Co., Ltd. Kudasai, one of the largest Web3 communities in Japan, was founded in 2020 and is a company that supports the growth of not only Web3 companies, but also all projects and companies related to Web3.
As the use of blockchain expands in various fields, including finance, and the Japanese government promotes Web3, further development of blockchain technology is expected. With Omakase’s technology and Kudasai’s marketing reach, Omakase/Kudasai can provide comprehensive support in Japanese market. Omakase specialises in validator operations, development, maintenance and technical consulting, primarily in the blockchain business, with the aim of developing future staking businesses.
As of March 2024, Omakase operates validators on blockchain networks such as Avalanche, Dymension, Eigenlayer, Ethereum, SEI and Zetachain. In addition to delegations from retail users and projects, Omakase works with institutional investors to operate validators. We also operate validators on testnets in collaboration with projects such as Babylon, Berachain, BounceBit, Elixir and Espresso, which are gaining global attention, and we participate as a validator in the Japan Open Chain, a domestically produced chain.
